Holiday | Skin | TreatmentCosmetic enhancement procedures available at The AgeLess Center include Botox and other FDA approved facial filler treatments, as well as procedures that will minimize wrinkles and shallow scars and add volume to the face.

  • Botox is one of the most popular treatments for minimizing and reducing wrinkles, particularly those that form on the forehead, at the corner of the eyes, and between the eyebrows. It is a quick, simple, nonsurgical procedure that will make you look younger and beautifully refreshed.
  • Xeomin is a slightly cheaper procedure compared to Botox that will also minimize wrinkles and crow’s feet, and make your skin feel lovely and smooth.
  • Radiesse fills wrinkles and is used to sculpt facial skin. The procedure helps to renew the collagen that gives volume, strength, and flexibility to the skin, making it look smoother and younger. The results of Radiesse are immediate and long lasting.
  • Juvéderm is used to add volume to the cheeks and lips and to minimize wrinkles and smile lines. Safe and effective, it has immediate results after a short 15-minute treatment.
  • Restylane is one of the best treatments for rejuvenating the skin and creating a fuller, more sensual appearance of the lips. It is particularly effective for minimizing those ugly lines that form between the corners of the mouth and nose. Results are immediate and they will last for about six months.
  • Belotero is another excellent treatment for wrinkles and fine lines. It can even minimize shallow facial scars, including acne. Although made from the same compounds used for Restylane and Juvéderm, it has a totally different formulation making it the best solution for delicate areas under the eyes and above the upper lip. It is also the best choice for those with thinner skin.
  • Perlane, like Radiesse, helps to form collagen, and in so doing will fill out wrinkles and unwanted skin lines. Like Restylane, it helps to rejuvenate the skin and will have you looking and feeling a lot younger very quickly. The results are also very natural.
  • Latisse is a treatment that has been developed for insufficient eyelashes. Working from the inside out, it makes eyelashes grow fuller and longer, and it makes them darker. It takes 12 to 16 weeks for full results.
  • Microdermabrasion is an inexpensive skin restoration procedure that takes about 30 minutes. Achieved by gentle but abrasive rubbing of the skin, the treatment removes dead skin cells, making the skin look and feel smooth and healthy. It is often referred to as a “lunch time peel.”
  • Leg veins can be the bane of anyone’s life. The AgeLess Center has a dedicated spider vein section where we treat ugly leg veins without the need for anesthesia. This minor process is simple and produces minimal discomfort. The success rate generally varies from 50 to 90 percent.

Is Botox or Xeomin Best for Your Next Treatment

You are in the market for a cosmetic facial treatment that doesn’t involve surgery. You want your skin to look younger and smoother, and for your lines and wrinkles to vanish. You have heard there are various ways to achieve these results, but how do you know which the best treatment is?

The AgeLess Center in Atlanta is a leading studio for cosmetic enhancement in Georgia. We offer a range of non-surgical procedures including Botox and Xeomin, both of which will minimize wrinkles and lines, and have you feeling and looking refreshed and more youthful in a short period of time.

So let’s compare the two treatments.

Comparison Between Our Atlanta Botox and Xeomin Treatments

  1. Botox and Xeomin are both approved by the FDA as non-surgical cosmetic processes that will reduce or at very least minimize typical lines and wrinkles associated with age.
  2. A neurotoxin (specifically Botulinum toxin (BTX) A) is the active ingredient in both treatments. It affects the facial muscles by restricting the movement that typically causes facial lines and wrinkles.
  3. Xeomin is manufactured by Merz; Botox is manufactured by Allergan.
  4. Both treatments are regarded as temporary and will last for three to nine months before another treatment is needed to prolong the effect.
  5. Xeomin is an excellent option for minimizing wrinkles on the forehead and crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes. The skin is obviously smoother to the feel and looks younger. Botox does the same thing and is regarded as the first non-surgical facelift.
  6. Botox treatments take only about 15 minutes. Xeomin treatments can be even quicker.
  7. Botox has been used for about a decade longer than Xeomin.
  8. Both treatments have other medicinal uses. Botox was originally developed to counter severe shoulder, neck, and eyelid spasms, crossed-eyes, as well as severe headaches and migraines. Xeomin is also good for eyelid spasm as well as dystonia that results in neck pain.
  9. Both treatments are very reasonably priced though Xeomin is slightly cheaper than Botox: $7 per unit versus $9 per unit. This should not be the deciding factor.
  10. Neither treatment has a recovery time.

Ultimately, the Botox and Xeomin treatments offered at The AgeLess Center are both quick and simple. If you still aren’t sure which one will suit you best, give us a call to schedule an appointment with our specialist at 404.233.5255.

What Atlanta Botox and Xeomin Have in Common

If you’re in the market for non-surgical cosmetic enhancement that will result in a younger, more attractive you, you’ll be interested in the Botox and Xeomin treatments offered by The AgeLess Center.

Both Botox and Xeomin are fantastic cosmetic fillers that will minimize, or at very least minimize those tell-tale aging signs that inevitably appear on facial and neck skin in the form of lines and wrinkles. Our Atlanta Botox and Xeomin cosmetic procedures are very reasonably priced, with Xeomin currently costing $175 and Botox $225, which amounts to $7 versus $9 per unit. Both treatments offer great value and both promise great results.

So what else do our Atlanta Botox or Xeomin treatments have in common?

Understanding Botox and Xeomin

Botox and XeominBotox and Xeomin are both anti-wrinkle treatments that are derived from neurotoxins that affect facial muscles, restricting the movement that causes typical wrinkles and lines. These include frown and smile lines.

The active ingredient in Botox and Xeomin is Botulinum toxin (BTX) A, and both are approved by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) as cosmetic treatments. Botox, which has been available for longer than Xeomin, is made by Allergan and Xeomin is made by Merz. Both have a range of approved medical uses in addition to their cosmetic application.

Both Botox and Xeomin are considered safe treatments.

The Wrinkles and Lines Botox and Xeomin Affect

The wrinkles and lines Botox and Xeomin are able to minimize are those that are caused by facial movements that are commonly repeated all the time. These include and facial movments that cause the skin to crease including:

  • movements of the eyebrows when we are surprised
  • frowning that creates furrows in the forehead
  • movement of our lips when we smile, that cause lines at the corners of our mouths
  • movement of muscles around our eyes, particularly when we smile, and which notoriously create crow’s feet

Of course all these facial movements involve muscles, which is why Botox and Xeomin are so effective. After treatment with either drug, your skin will feel much smoother and it will look considerably younger. One glance in the mirror and you’re guaranteed to feel refreshed!

How Long do Atlanta Botox or Xeomin Treatments Last?

Both Botox and Xeomin are temporary treatments, unlike plastic surgery which is permanent. The results of either will last for anything from three to nine months.

The upside of a temporary treatment like this is that things can’t go wrong as they sometimes do in plastic surgery.

The AgeLess Center’s Atlanta Botox or Xeomin treatements are simple and quick. There is no recovery time involved with either. Contact us if you want to look and feel younger now.

Role of FDA in Approving Cosmetic Procedures to Make You Look Younger

While the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is not required by law to approve cosmetic products or the ingredients for cosmetics (except for colorants), there are certain cosmetic procedures that utilize drugs that must be FDA approved. These relate directly to Atlanta Botox services and to Atlanta Xeomin services.

Cosmetics Versus Drugs in Law

Role of FDA in Approving Cosmetic Procedures to Make You Look YoungerCosmetics encompass a myriad of products that may be rubbed, sprayed, sprinkled or poured on the face or body to cleanse, beautify, or alter appearance. Cosmetics are generally intended to promote attractiveness, and include everything from skin moisturizers and cleansing shampoo, to perfume and makeup. Soap is specifically not included in the definition.

As soon as a product is intended for therapeutic use, to prevent or treat disease, or to affect the function or structure of the body (or part of the body), it becomes defined as a drug. And the FDA regulates both the manufacture and distribution of all drugs in the USA. The FDA also regulates manufacture and distribution of biological products including toxins.

The two drugs used by Atlanta Botox services and Atlanta Xeomin services are both toxins and are regulated by the FDA. They are:

  1. Botox
  2. Xeomin

About the Botox Toxin Used by Atlanta Botox Services

OnabotulinumtoxinA, Botox was originally approved for the treatment of eyelid spasms (blepharospasm), misalignment of the eyes (strabismus), chronic migraines and severe underarm sweating.

In 2002 The FDA approved Botox Cosmetic, which is also OnabotulinumtoxinA, for the temporary “improvement” of wrinkles or frown lines that form between eyebrows. Technically known as glabellar lines, Botox Cosmetic prevents the muscles from becoming tight, and as a result wrinkles are not as noticeable.

More than a decade later, in 2013, the FDA approved Botox Cosmetic for the temporary “improvement” of crow’s feet or lateral canthal lines under the outside corners of the eyes. While glabellar lines are generally caused by frowning, lateral canthal lines are commonly caused by smiling. Botox Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved drug option that is available for crow’s feet.

Even though other Botox products have popped up on the market, the only FDA-approved Botox product is manufactured by Allergen Inc., a Californian pharmaceutical company. In 2010 a New York doctor was debarred for five years after misbranding a botox product manufactured by another company as “Botox” and B”otox Cosmetic”. The product was not FDA approved, but the doctor admitted to having treated 62 patients for severe glabellar lines in 2004.

About the Xeomin Toxin Used by Atlanta Xeomin Services

IncobotulinumtoxinA, Xeomin was approved by the FDA in 2011 to help reverse neck pain and the abnormal head position that results from cervical dystonia (CD). It was also approved for the treatment of abnormal eyelid spasms (blepharospasm), and to help alleviate the effect of frown lines between the eyebrows.

The FDA-approved Xeomin is manufactured by Merz Pharmaceuticals, a North Carolina company.

The AgeLess Center’s Botox and Xeomin Services

The AgeLess Center in Atlanta offers FDA-approved Botox Cosmetic and Xeomin treatments that will minimize wrinkles and leave the skin looking smooth and unwrinkled. Both are cosmetic procedures that will help to make you look younger.

Atlanta Xeomin Services for Smooth Beautiful Skin

An FDA approved pharmaceutical product, Xeomin was originally developed to prevent various forms of spasticity, and then used to minimize frown lines that develop between the inner ends of the eyebrows. It is now also used to treat other facial wrinkles, including wrinkles that form on the forehead and crow’s feet that form below the corners of the eyes.

Doctors generally use Xeomin both on- and off-label to treat the same kinds of facial lines and wrinkles that are commonly treated using Botox. So whether you are looking for Atlanta Xeomin services or Atlanta Botox services, you will find that both have the ability to make your facial skin smoother and more beautiful.

What is Xeomin and How Does it Work?

Atlanta Xeomin ServicesTechnically a neurotoxin called IncobotulinumtoxinA, Xeomin is made from a bacteria that causes botulism, that causes muscle paralysis. While botulism as such is an infectious disease, the way it is used in Xeomin is proven to be safe. The toxins in Xeomin are used to block nerve activity in muscles where lines and wrinkles are apparent, causing a temporary decrease in the muscle activity that then effectively minimizes various facial lines.

Xeomin takes less than a week to take effect, and the results generally last for anything from three to six months.

The result is smooth, beautiful, soft, wrinkle-free facial skin.

Clinical Trials That Verify the Safety of Atlanta Xeomin Services

Several clinical trials show that Xeomin is both effective and safe, not just for getting rid of wrinkles, but also for treating the painful condition, cervical dystonia and other forms of spasticity. Also known as spasmodic torticollis, cervical dystonia causes neck muscles to contract involuntarily, making the head turn or twist to one side.

  • The results of a study published in the Journal of the Neurological Sciences in 2011, examined the use of Xeomin for treatment of cervical dystonia. The formulations used did not contain any accessory proteins, and the toxin was found to be both effective and safe.
  • In 2009 results of a study compared the routine use of Xeomin with the results of Botox previously used by the same patients. The conclusion was that both treatments could be used safely, and there was “no diffusion difference” between the two. Ultimately, Xeomin could be used safely in doses up to 840 MU. Results of this study were published in the European Journal of Neurology.
  • In 2002 study results published in The New England Journal of Medicine showed that disabling spasticity in their wrists and fingers as a result of stroke complications improved. The toxin didn’t have any major adverse effects.
